The Frabosan (read Frabusan) regional Piedmontese knife.

..the knife of history and tradition typical of our valleys...

The frabosan is the typical knife of the municipality of Frabosa. After the positive experience of the barachin, the idea was born to follow up the production of this historic knife now almost extinct. A particular pride for me since I grew up in Frabosa. The first step was the production of a numbered pre-series of 50 pieces for Christmas 2009 and now it is available regularly, the only one produced in Frabosa, its area of origin.

Like all of our traditional knives, this is a handcrafted, entirely handmade piece with a forged carbon steel blade and a handle made of local woods decorated with the typical band.

Hand-forged carbon steel blade with hammered brut de forge finish about 7-8 cm long. The shape of the blade is obtained during forging (the piece of steel is whistle-cut with minimal waste of material given the value it once had over labor).

One-piece handle of local woods (boxwood, laburnum, oak, walnut, chestnut, and cherry) with the characteristic metal band whose function is to block the blade and strengthen the part of the handle that bears the greatest stress.

Also characteristic is the historical use of marking the handle with one ormore carved washers whose placement and number were characteristic of the maker. My frabosan have a washer positioned one-third from the end of the handle.

Each Frabosan comes with its certificate of guarantee: handcrafted knife, entirely made by hand, in Italy and free from manufacturing defects that could affect its use and operation
