Over the years I have made other knife replicas for a few customers and a few friends, and that has let me measure myself against other techniques and other designs. My thanks go to the makers of the original knives, who left us the mark of their own character to follow.

Gil Hibben’s Rescue, from the 1988 film Rambo III. Pictured is my replica. It was Hibben’s first choice for the film and the minefield scene had already been shot with this knife, then Stallone chose the bowie: the Rescue stayed on as “Rambo’s lost knife” (source: BLADE Magazine).
